Multi-Model Lineup Now Available For Volkswagen ID 4

The Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV is now on sale with in Ireland with a multi model lineup. The ID.4 at launch was available in 1st Edition spec with prices starting from €34,436 OTR. Now Volkswagen have opened up availability for more of the ID.4 lineup to Irish buyers.

The pure-electric crossover is based on the same MEB platform as the ID.3 with the same rear-mounted electric motor (201bhp and 310Nm of torque). The battery pack is slightly larger than the ID3’s, at 77kWh, providing a max claimed range of 500 kilometers. The ID.4 is Volkswagen’s first all-electric SUV and comes to Ireland with two battery sizes. The ID.4 City and ID.4 Style have a battery with 52 kWh net energy content. Their electric drive motors deliver 148 PS and a range of up to 343km (WLTP). The 52kWh battery can accelerate the ID.4 to 100km/h in just 10.9 seconds and on to a top speed limited to 160 km/h. Charging is via 7.2 kW AC or up to 100 kW DC charging (AC charging from empty to full takes approx 7 hours 30 minutes).

Standard equipment for the Volkswagen ID.4 1st Edition includes 20” alloy wheels, LED headlights, rear privacy glass and a reversing camera. The cabin gets a heated steering wheel, a 30-colour ambient lighting system, a 10” infotainment system and a pair of heated front seats, trimmed in ArtVelours upholstery.

There are 7 available levels of ID.4models, each with their own pre-configured standard equipment.

The ‘entry-level’ ID.4 City at €34,436, comes with 18” alloys, Nav, Wireless Charging and Art Velours Interior. The ID.4 Style starting at €38,548 adds Matrix LED headlights, 19” alloy wheels, tinted rear windows, a rearview camera, 3-Zone Climatronic and Keyless Advanced Access. The ID.4 Life then moves up to €44,001, it’s the same as a City spec but with 19” alloy wheels and the 77 kWh battery. The ID.4 Business at €48,887 takes the City spec and adds the 77 kWh battery, Matrix LED headlights, 19” alloy wheels, anti-theft alarm, tinted rear windows, 30 colour interior ambient lighting, rearview camera and keyless access.

The ID.4 1st Edition can sprint from 0–100 km/h in 8.5 seconds and it’s possible to get around 320 kms of range in just 30 minutes.

The ID.4 Max comes in at €57,810 and upgrades to 21” Alloys with Airstop tyres, the 12” Discover Pro Nav, augmented reality HUD, Travel Assist, rear view camera, IQ LED matrix lights with welcome animations, exterior ambient lighting (light bar), panoramic sunroof, keyless access, advanced easy open / close package, wireless smartphone charging and long journey tension releasing electrically powered seats with massage function.

Volkswagen offer a 77kWh battery pack with the less powerful 177bhp electric motor. A top of the range all-wheel drive version would likely borrow its drivetrain from the Skoda Enyaq vRS, for a maximum output of 302bhp and a 0–100 km/h time of just 6.2 seconds.

The ID.4’s size places it between the regular Tiguan and the seven-seat Tiguan Allspace in terms of length. Available boot space is 543 litres with all seats up, or 1,575 litres with the rear seats folded.

A wheelbase of 2,700mm, in combination with the under-floor packaging of the battery and the rear-axle mounted electric motor, means that Volkswagen can claim the ID.4 has almost as much room inside as cars from the segment above.
