Now on sale in Ireland, the Mokka’s prices start from €23,295 (plus delivery charges) in SC 1.2 petrol 100bhp guise. The full lineup is available with a choice of petrol, diesel and pure-electric powertrains. SRI trim starts at €24,795 and comes with air con, heated seats, auto lights, tinted rear privacy glass, SRI red interior trim, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto and 17” alloys. Top of the line Elite trim starts at €27,795 and adds driver seat massage, leather upholstery, 10” touchscreen with nav, 12” driver instrument cluster and 17” bi-colour black alloys.
Inside the cabins, the driver and passenger view is dominated by the huge twin-screen layout that combines displays for the instrument panel and the infotainment system. In more modest trim levels they’re smaller but higher up the line you get the 12″ digital dash and a 10″ central screen for the mapping and audio. The interface also shows the cabin temperature settings, though thankfully this can be controlled using physical buttons and dials.
The entry-level model is powered by a 1.2 petrol 100bhp turbo mated to a 6-speed manual, there’s also a 130bhp turbo available with manual or automatic transmission. The two petrol engines are joined by a 1.5-litre diesel 110bhp 6-speed manual and best of all the Mokka-e stablemate which we’ve already previewed.
The Mokka-e produces 100kW (136hp) and 260Nm of torque from a 50kWh battery with a range of up to 324 kilometres. Using a 100 kW DC fast-charger gets 0 – 80% charge in just 30 minutes. Opel offers an eight-year/160,000km warranty for the battery.
