New Peugeot 308 for 2022

Peugeot’s latest design language on the facelifted 3008 SUV follows through onto the 308 and will be on sale in Ireland by the start of 2022.

The style of the new 308 will have a bonnet swooping downwards creating a lower looking front end leading to the new larger grille with Peuegot’s new logo. Peugeot’s fang-like LED daytime running lights will continue to be a well loved theme as well in the 308.

At the back a prominent rear spoiler and the excellent ‘claw’ style lighting elements tailor the rear off nicely. Despite the clipped looking rear end, space in the back has improved. It’s 11mm longer than the previous generation, at 4,360mm, and it’s 20mm lower. Overall the wheelbase has grown by 55mm, so Boot space stays put at 412 litres. The new 308 should prove one of the more practical options in its category by the time it goes on sale at the start of 2022 in Ireland. It means the boot is larger than the Ford Focus, Volkswagen Golf, Hyundai i30 or Mercedes A-Class.

To help differentiate between the 308 and the 3008 SUV, the inside of the 308 has undergone a big transformation. The dashboard integrates some of Peugeot’s newest infotainment and display technology into a brand new design.

A sharp-looking 10” touchscreen display on the dashboard controls the in-car technology and is now wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatible. There are two versions available: the basic i-Connect version and the i-Connect plus with widescreen nav from TomTom. The new interface is customisable and uses a widget-based organiser similar to your mobile phone.
