Peugeot has taken a big step forward with their electric SUV range and introduced the new E-5008 offering a blend of style, performance, and space.
With a bigger range, the WLTP estimate is from 500 to 660 km from a single charge, there will also be AWD Dual Motor and Long Range versions. Rapid charging is possible up to 160kW, and can get from 20 to 80 percent in 30 mins. Peugeot will also sell the new E-5008 with a hybrid engine. The E-5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 features the Peugeot hybrid 48V system, which consists of a new-generation 136 hp petrol engine coupled with a dual-clutch six-speed gearbox that incorporates an electric motor. The battery recharges while driving, which means extra torque at low revs and a possible reduction of up to 15% in fuel consumption (5.7 l/100 km in WLTP mixed cycle – WLTP cycle under approval ). In urban driving, the new 5008 Hybrid 136 e-DCS6 can operate up to 50% of the time in 100% electric zero-emission mode.
The E-5008 has a top speed of 180 km/h and a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of just 9.5 seconds.
In terms of design, the E-5008 continues with the latest Peugeot family features, with sleek and aerodynamic styling, sharp lines and bold curves. The interior is impressive, with a spacious cabin that can comfortably accommodate up to seven passengers. The E-5008 also comes equipped with the latest infotainment and safety technologies, ensuring a connected and safe driving experience.
The E-5008’s stylish design and premium interior set it apart from other electric SUVs in its class. Peugeot looks to have paid attention to the smallest details, from the high-quality materials to the state-of-the-art infotainment system. Peugeot claims luggage space of 259 litres when all seven seats are in use which opens up to 748 litres with the third row stowed, and 1,815 litres with all rear seats folded flat. And there will be further cubbies under the boot floor. The driver will be surrounded with similar materials and technology to the E-3008.
Speaking of pricing, the Peugeot E-5008 prices may vary depending on optional features and trim levels, the E-5008 should however be priced competitively within its segment. Prices for Ireland will be announced later in the year.
