Peugeot adds E to 208, 308 and 308 SW lineup | Industry News

Peugeot’s adorable little 208 has been a successful little hatch and continues to win on style and street smarts. While SUVs aren’t suited to everyone’s needs, a great little hatch can be a joy to own. You’ll have less rear space for passengers and boot space for items but will be still able to park in those tight spots easily and nip about with decent economy. And so Peugeot continue to entertain us with their fantastic little fleet heroes. Peugeot have now added to its electric lineup with the launch of three new models.

The new 208 is available to order in Ireland now starting at €25,395 for the 1.2 PureTech for January delivery. And for the E-208 prices will start at €32,780 (which includes the SEAI grant and VRT rebate) with a predicted range of up to 400 km (WLTP cycle).

As always there’s a good choice of powertrains and trim levels on offer. The new 208 range also offers two economical and efficient petrol engines. A PureTech 75: 3-cylinder 1.2 petrol engine with 75bhp 5 speed and a PureTech 100 3-cylinder 1.2 petrol engine with 100bhp 6-speed.

Inside the 208 gets a new digital instrument cluster, with a large 10” central touchscreen, ambient lighting with eight different colours on the GT line.

It gets Peugeots latest i-Connect system with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, there’s also added USB ports, HD parking cameras and a range of driving aids.

And to add to the new 308 lineup they’ve developed the electric 308 and 308 SW with an estimated range of up to 413 km (WLTP cycle). The SW comes with 115 kW (156 bhp) and 260 Nm of torque. The electric version sits alongside the rest of the lineup, which includes 180 bhp/132 kW and 225 bhp/162 kW plug-in hybrids and internal combustion versions. The on-board three-phase charger comes as standard and has a power rating of 11 kW. From a 100kW public charging point, the vehicle charge will go from 20% to 80% charge in less than 25 minutes, 12 minutes for 100km.

On the inside you still have the infamous compact steering wheel which is now available with heated option on the E-308. There’s also a 3D head-up display, a 10” touch screen, configurable virtual i-toggles, and Peugeots i-Connect® Advanced technology infotainment system through which to access it all. Prices will be released later this year and the E-308 will be available in Ireland by early 2024.
