Citroën’s new ë-C4 and C4 launches with the choice of 100% electric, petrol or diesel variants.
The C4 will have a range of new generation Euro 6 petrol and diesel engines starting at €24,740. There will be four PureTech petrol engines ranging from 100bhp to 155bhp or two BlueHDi diesel engines with 110 bhp and 130 bhp. Citroen’s latest generation 8-speed EAT8 automatic gearbox will also be available.
In the electric version you can get a 100 kW / 136 hp motor with 260 Nm of torque which will give approximately 350km range and 0-100km/h time of 9.7secs. It will charge up to 80% in 30 minutes with a 100kw connection while an 11kw 3-phase charger will charge to 100% in 5hrs. A 32-amp domestic wall box takes 7.5hrs.
The new C4 is equipped with Citroën Suspension with Progressive Hydraulic Cushions Suspension. The Progressive Hydraulic Cushions adds a hydraulic stop to each end of the suspension travel. Which essentially means Citroën’s reputation for comfort continues.
Onboard technology includes a 10 ’’ touchscreen which allows access to the multimedia system, as well as phone, air con and nav. It also features voice recognition technology. Connect Play allows the use of Android Auto or Apple CarPlay and it will have the option of Wireless charging. There also Connect Assist, a geolocated emergency and assistance call service which is free and comes without subscription which is available 24/7. There’s also Connect Nav, a 3D connected navigation system. Citroën’s ConnectedCAM is an inbuilt dashcam with accident recording, plus ability to take and share photos and video on social media.
For passengers, they’ve developed Citroën Smart Pad Support. It’s a retractable support system directly integrated into the dashboard. This means that you can securely mount a tablet device without the need for accessories.
As part of the new C4 launch, Citroen have teamed up with Energia to offer a free home charge point and 20% discount on green electricity bundle when switching energy providers.
