You’ve got to be confident in your product if you think it’s capable of track handling. The Opel Insignia GSI has Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, a 260ps petrol engine and is ‘huge’ fun. There’s lots of gear & starts at €49,500 in Ireland. We were brought to a closed track to see the GSI and had a lot of fun track testing the limits on a wet track and at high speed testing.
The GSI comes with a lot of kit for the price : Brembo brakes, Michelin Pilot Sport tyres & 260ps petrol engine, HUD and more.
Petrol starts at €49,500 in Ireland and Diesel is €53,600 and it has an 8 speed box.
I wouldn’t in general pick diesel if you’re looking for driving dynamics, but a lot of countries are still buying diesel. We tested the 2.0 Petrol on track. One thing you’ll already know about the Insgnia is that it’s a really big car. But if you really need space, the Tourer is huuuuge.
