BMW 5 Series Revealed | Industry News

BMW have launched the seventh-generation 5 series codenamed G60. It’s one of BMW’s final new models before the Neue Klasse-generation vehicles kick off from 2025. 

The new 5 Series will be available with multiple powertrain options, including the new electric i5 as well as hybrid, petrol and unfortunately no diesels. As well as a more athletic looking saloon, the Touring will continue to be an option with split tail gate in situ and there will be a pano roof option for the saloon.

The excellent news is that the new M5 flagship will also be available s well as an i5 M60. The full line-up will have both four and six-cylinder turbocharged petrol and diesel engines using 48-volt mild-hybrid technology. Inside, a pair of curved screens are viewed from the area in front of the driver and the centre of the dashboard using BMW’s latest iDrive 8.

Safety systems will include driver assistance technology, including a clever adaptive cruise control system which takes information from a series of cameras to track the drivers eye movement. Adaptive suspension will also be available.
