Peugeot release details on updated 2008 & E-2008

Peugeot have released details on the latest 2008 refresh. Most importantly the E-2008 will have extra power and range. Using some of the more recent hardware from the E-208 and E-308, the electric motor has 156 hp (115 kW) and the battery is now 54 kWh, increasing the range to 406 kilometers.

The powertrain now also includes a new hybrid 136-hp petrol engine with a 6 speed, dual-clutch auto transmission. Peugeot claims it’s likely most drivers will use pure electric mode for more than 50 percent of the time in the city.

The new Peugeot 2008 versions feature a 10” touchscreen, go up a trim level and you’ll get the newly designed 10” digital instrument cluster, which will include the 3D effect on the GT trim.

Peugeot will continue to sell the 2008 3 cylinder, 1.2-litre petrol engine with 130 hp through an 8 speed auto and the 4 cylinder 1.5-litre diesel. The 2008 will go on sale by the end of the year together with the purely electric E-2008.
