ST update unveiled alongside Facelift Focus lineup| Industry News

Ford has given the Focus ST hot hatch some new tweaks as part of the updated Focus line refresh. Some of the updates include front bumper overhaul with slightly larger radiator grille and more aggressive LED headlights front and rear. There’s also the addition of ‘Mean Green’ paint (which you’ll recognise from the Puma).

The ST engine remains largely the same turbocharged 2.3-litre four-cylinder unit with 276bhp and 420Nm of torque. It’s mated to a six-speed manual which will come as standard and the seven-speed auto will be available as an optional extra.

The previous gen Recaro’s have been replaced with some in-house designed 14 way adjustable sports seats. A re-designed (but still very recognizably Ford) dashboard now has Ford’s latest SYNC4 touchscreen. This introduces advanced speech recognition and new connected features such as live weather reports and traffic updates.

The standard Focus lineup will get a 48-volt EcoBoost Hybrid powertrain building 155PS with the new seven-speed Powershift auto. The lineup will also include Ford’s 1.0-litre EcoBoost petrol engine with 100 PS and 125 PS. The diesel lineup will consist of Ford’s 1.5-litre EcoBlue diesel engine with 95 PS and 120 PS.
