The new Ford Mustang Mach 1 offers improved handling, a few new add-ons on the outside and now the option of a six-speed manual gearbox. The track-focused Mustang Mach 1 is powered by a tuned version of the standard Mustang’s naturally aspirated 5.0-litre V8 engine with 454bhp. All of this leads to a 0-100 km/h time of just 4.8s.
Cosmetic tweaks include a new upper grille, front splitter and rear diffuser. They’re not just for show as they contribute to a 22% gain in downforce compared with a standard Mustang GT. Buyers can also specify a set of 19” alloys.
You can opt for an automatic but regardless of which transmission you pick, the Mach 1 also gets a limited-slip diff and an extra gearbox cooler for extra reliability on the track.
Finally inside the cabin gets a set of leather sports seats, a white cue-ball gear knob and a unique plaque which carries the car’s chassis number.
