Muscling your way into the premium SUV sector isn’t easy and the DS 7 Crossback is landing left hooks at it’s competition squarely with it’s pricing. Elegance models start at €36,000 with the range topping Ultra Prestige priced at €60,245 and the entire range has a tax band between €190 to 280.

Diesel engines come in the form of Blue hdi 130 6 speed manual & Blue HDi 180 8 speed autos. Petrol engines are available in Pure tech 130 6 speed man & 180 8 speed autos. The DS7 Crossback  boasts a 5 Star NCAP rating and best in class CO2 emissions.

The DS7 ‘s focus is on comfort, with suspension & seat design at the forefront of the DS7’s aesthetic. Orthopaedic doctors (AGR) have certified the seats in the DS 7. With the national yearly average of 17 thousand kilometers traveled a year, it’s appealing as a preventative measure for those doing high mileage. Or of you just prefer a relaxed style of driving.

Relatively new to the market functionality include DS connected CAM dashcam. The DS7 Crossback is only 1 of 3 cars on the market that will have integrated dash cam offered direct from the manufacturer.

The Elegance model starts at €36,000 and includes Android / Apple connectivity , 8” touch screen, rear parking sensors, cornering light function, keyless start, ecall, gesture operated cabin lights, electrically operated child locks, leather steering wheel, chrome mounted controls among some of the more noteworthy kit on a long list of standard spec.

There are 3 driving modes, eco, comfort and sport. It must be in comfort mode for the active scan suspension to work.

Also on the cards is a DS7 Crossback e tense hybrid 4×4 PHEV with 300ps/450nm torque, which will be expected to launch in 2020. It will have an anticipated 50km WLTP range in zero emission mode and boot space is 550 litres.

An added bonus is the 5 year unlimited road side assistance and 5 year unlimited mileage warranty. The warranty is fully transferable when you change cars.

It’s key competitors are the BMW X1, Audi Q3, Jaguar E-Pace, Volvo’s XC 40, Range Rover Evoque and the Lexus UX. It’s extremely well priced against its competitors when you look at the included spec in each trim (Elegance, Performance Line, Prestige and Ultra Prestige). It’s hard not to consider it, given the value and style of the DS 7 Crossback.
