This new Citroën C4 Cactus Flair PureTech 130 has a 1.2l Turbo engine, is €190 to tax and it’s like driving a cloud. As spec’d this one is priced at €25,795 and comes with a host of kit including DAB radio, Advanced Comfort Seats, Air Con, Bluetooth, Sat Nav, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto and has keyless entry.
The Air Bumps are gone from the panels on the doors in a bid to fit in with the crowd. But the interior still has a few niche touches. It hasn’t changed as much as the Yeti has morphed into the slightly less charismatic Karoq, but it still keeps it’s French flair and styling cues.
It’s a really simple car inside, hit Bluetooth and voila you’ve hooked up your phone and music in seconds although the touch screen could do with improving. It’s well laid out, if a little bare, with plenty of space cleared for storage and cabin bits. Materials are hard wearing, if a little cheap to the touch and the steering is a little too light. The seats are comfortable and the suspension more so. It’s worth looking at if you wish to waft around all day long. They were a little too soft and un-supportive for me, making me feel as if sitting too high in the drivers seat. But for some, it’s exactly what their aching back needs.
Special mention : It’s a Citroen car for Citroen people.
Needs work : The infotainment system isn’t as intuitive as it needs to be to lessen driver distraction.
